In our continuing effort to be your one-stop shop for all your auto news, we’re recapping some of this weeks most important auto industry stories. Of course, G.M. continues to make news with its financial woes, but other top automakers were in the headlines this week as well.

  • G.M. says it’s willing to consider bankruptcy
    In a regulatory filing to the Treasury department, G.M. said they would consider filing for bankruptcy. While the company still prefers an out of court restructuring, they believe filing for bankruptcy is another distinct possibility.

  • Hyundai to offer plug-in hybrid in U.S. for 2012
    Reports indicate that Hyundai plans to start production on a plug-in hybrid aimed for launching in the U.S. in late 2012. The car is believed to be based on the BLUE-WILL concept the company showed at Seoul Motor Show. When running in EV mode, Hyundai believes the car can achieve 106 miles per gallon.

  • BMW X6M leaks out ahead of New York unveiling
    BMW X6M pictures leaked recently ahead of the car’s scheduled debut at the New York Auto Show. Output for the vehicle is believed to be around 500 horsepower. Check out the pictures of this new ride to see what you think about it.

  • Another dismal month for auto sales
    March auto sales plunged again with a 37 percent drop. Despite selling about 500,000 vehicles fewer than this time last year, sales were up nearly 25 percent from February. Is this a sign that the worst is over?

  • Honda CEO says Insight price won’t be reduced further
    Before the Insight hit the market, reports said it would be much cheaper than the Toyota Prius. However, three Prius models (2nd generation, 3rd generation, and a rumored new, cheaper Prius) are all priced competitively with the Insight. Honda’s CEO announced the company has no plans to lower the price of the Insight at this time.
