4 Vehicles Designed to Get That Slow Bastard Out of the Left Lane

|

There's nothing worse in highway traffic than the guy (or girl) that sits on the left-hand lane, crawling along and delaying the people that need to get somewhere, from getting there. Why do they do it? Do people realize that the left lane is for people that are looking to pass other vehicles and not for sitting in? As stated in the Missouri DOR for driver's license testing, "Use the left lane only to pass another vehicle." Source: http://www.dor.mo.gov/mvdl/drivers/dlguide/chapter6.pdf

I'm not advocating high speed drivers or unsafe driving techniques, but I am advocating the idea of respecting the road and considering the best ways to drive when driving on the interstates and major highways. For more tips of safe express way driving, here are some guidelines from smart motorist.

If you see that person coming quickly into your rear view mirror, do the right thing and, at the earliest AND SAFEST convenience, get out of the left lane and let that person pass.

Now, if you are that person who is stuck behind the selfish bastard who thinks they own the road, here are four vehicles you may want to consider purchasing that will help improve their decision making process when you are politely asking them to let you by.

Courtesy of Engadget, this bad boy is 4 and a half feet longer than the H2 and should strike some fear in the hearts of that Subaru Legacy in front of you. You better not eat out as much though, as it appears to only get 15 feet to the gallon.

RST-V Hybrid Tactical Vehicle
If you are really concerned about the environment, consider the US Marine Corps RST-V Tactical Vehicle, with high mobility, electric drive technology. MixedPower.com says it may soon challenge the Humvee as the dominant vehicle for military use. Imagine when it gets to the consumer market.

Just Scare the Crap Out Of Them
For 20k, you could own the "Shark Car", as seen on OldBug.com (probably a bit outdated, but I am certain you could find the new owners). Its VW powered with electrically controlled steering. I would take off the little fish on the front, in favor of a machine gun or similar fear-inspiring device.

Simple Respect: 1970 Plymouth Barracuda
It may be pricey, but perhaps you can get something like Joe Rogan got, when he commissioned Rad Rides to build him this awesome 1970's Plymouth Barracuda. If the driver ahead of you doesn't get out of the way for respect reasons alone, you have to wonder what rock they came up from. Read more from HotRod
